Employment for Seniors

I just wanted to give you some feedback on my experience with Employment for Seniors. I am currently working with a company whose lead I was given at my interview. I called right after my interview at your center, had an interview the next day and was hired. That was in August of 2005. It was a very good experience for me. I had been working a few jobs through a temporary agency but not really getting what I wanted. I still occasionally "surf" your site to see what is listed, but am always satisfied that where I am is the best place for me right now.

Just wanted to say thanks and keep up the good work. It can be a little nerve-wracking to go back into the work force after being out of the loop for a while. You helped to make it a practically painless experience. Sorry it took me so long to let you know this and express my thanks for your help.

If Employment for Seniors wouldn't have been there last summer, I doubt seriously if I would be going to work in the morning now. Keep up the good work.

Thanks for the support. When I was driving home one day, I passed a preschool. On impulse I stopped, applied and was hired. Your counselor that advised me, was very helpful and supportive. She encouraged me to keep trying. In that aspect, Employment for Seniors played a role.

I think your organization is very needed. I do feel that I had not been considered for some jobs because of my age and experience.

Thank you very much for your help in finding a job, for sharing so much information about aging advocacy in Columbus, and for the opportunity to volunteer as a counselor at Employment for Seniors. When I came to EFS for my initial appointment, your counselor was very kind and clear in his introduction to your services.

I was at that time very discouraged by my experiences looking for a job on my own. Bill suggested that I volunteer to be a counselor. I have enjoyed meeting and talking to the many very interesting people who seek your services. The experience of volunteering helped put my own
situation in perspective, and reminded me that at the age of 61 I still have much to offer to an employer. I will miss my Tuesdays with you, and hope to stay in touch.

I want to thank you for your assistance in my search for employment. After 60, employment possibilities drop drastically. I logged on to four other job search web sites with no success - several interests but no real consideration. Thank you for being there for the over 50.

After my 25 year career in cable telecommunications, I am happy to share that my target of finding a meaningful position with a Columbus , Ohio nonprofit has been a success. Just shy of six months since my position was eliminated, I'm moving to the role of a Relationship Manager.

I appreciate the opportunity to tell you how great the folks I have hired from Employment for Seniors have been. So far there have been three of them. Their work ethic is exemplary. I also hire some high school kids and some of them have become better employees simply because they have seen those three lead by example. I’ll even go you one better.
